Savage is going green(er).
Introducing the GreenLine, Savage Apparel Company’s new generation of activewear made from 100% recycled bottles.
We worked with a nearby partner mill to create a proprietary fabric specifically for our customers’ unique needs. It’s lightweight, sweat-wicking, antimicrobial, comfortable, and sublimation-friendly — plus it’s rated UPF 50+, the highest level of UV protection you can get from clothing. You won’t find this fabric anywhere else.
From bottle to jersey, the GreenLine fabric stays within a 250-mile radius between the plant that creates thread from recycled bottles, to our partner mill where it's knitted into fabric, to a finishing house, to Savage headquarters in Richmond, where we print, cut, and sew every sublimated garment we sell.
Are all Savage products made from the recycled fabric? Currently, our fully sublimated jerseys and shorts, reversible tanks, Champs, and tank tops are now created using our 100% recycled GreenLine fabric. Over time, we hope to transition all of our products to the GreenLine. Check your gear for a GreenLine label if you’re not sure, or reach out to our sales team.
Does it feel different? You may not immediately notice a difference, but after months of in-house testing, we can confirm that the feel of our jerseys has been subtly improved. The knit of our GreenLine fabric is slightly tighter, giving it more durability and that increased UPF rating. The fabric also gets a SILVADUR wash, a special, antimicrobial ionic treatment that essentially helps you stay fresher, longer. We finish it off with a softener to give it an ultra-comfortable feel. Has the fit changed? We’ve taken this opportunity to improve the fit of our jerseys, working with our in-house design team to make our garments more true-to-size with an athletic cut that fits a wider range of body types. Our tank tops are now more fashion-forward and fit-friendly.
Do the GreenLine products cost more? No. The price of our jerseys and shorts are the same as before.
